Year 10 Textiles
During yr10 you will learn decorative techniques and garment construction skills. You will keep a sketchbook that documents the progress you make over the year, and will become a revision aid in yr11.
Examples of the garments that have been made by past yr10s.
In the lead up to this project, we take an after school trip to Truro Fabrics so that you can purchase the fabric you would like for the project

Following a strict garment making project you are given a more open brief. In past years these have been Pearl of the Orient, Carnival and Cityscapes. The outcomes are always very varied!

Transforming a Redruth 'Grot Spot'!
This year, one of my textiles groups have been working with Tony Minnion and Peter Freeman to create a massive hoarding to turn a 'Grot spot' of Redruth into a much pleasanter place.
Pupils took their inspiration from the 'Hidden Architecture' of Redruth; on our way back to school after a lesson in town taking photographs, it was brilliant to hear the pupils exclaim "I've lived here all my life and never knew there were so many cool buildings in Redruth!"
Their combined efforts can be seen currently in Redruth School and soon in Redruth Town!
